Terms of use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms apply when you use thenetworkery.com, its JSON API or its MCP server (together, "the service"), run by The Networkery ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
1. The service
The service is a free set of network tools: DNS, email, web and routing checks, monitors, webhook and MCP testing tools, guides, and the same tools through the API and MCP. We may add, change, limit or withdraw any part of it, including its limits, at any time. You don't need an account for most tools; some features need a free account.
2. Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful purposes and only to check systems you own, run, or are authorised to test. In particular, you must not:
- scan, probe or attack networks, hosts or services you aren't authorised to test, or use the port check, HTTP, TLS, MCP or webhook tools as part of an attack;
- use webhook URLs, auto-forwarding, the webhook sender tester or monitors to send spam, unsolicited or harmful traffic, or to overload anyone's systems;
- store or share unlawful, harmful or infringing content in webhook URLs, status pages, saved results or share links, or use them for phishing or impersonation;
- get around rate limits, blocks or usage limits, for example by rotating addresses or creating accounts in bulk;
- interfere with, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure, or test its security without following our security reporting process.
Automated use through the API and MCP server is welcome within their published limits. Please send a meaningful User-Agent so we can contact you if something goes wrong.
We may block addresses, suspend accounts or remove content that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk, without notice where necessary.
3. Accounts
Sign-in is by emailed link or with Google or GitHub. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read it can sign in. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
4. Your content and shared links
You keep any rights in what you enter, send to webhook URLs or upload. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. Saved results, status pages and read-only share links can be opened by anyone who has the link, so don't put secrets in them.
5. Results are information, not advice
The tools report what DNS, registries, servers and other sources said at the moment of the check, and explain it as best we can. Those sources, and our explanations, can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check important results yourself before acting on them; nothing on the service is professional advice.
6. Availability
The service is provided free, "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, that monitors and alerts will never miss an event, or that data will never be lost. Don't rely on it as your only monitoring for anything critical.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of the service, and our total liability to you is limited to £100. If you use the service as a consumer, you also have legal rights these terms don't affect.
8. Reporting abuse
To report misuse of the service, for example unwanted traffic from our server or a harmful webhook URL or status page, email abuse@thenetworkery.com with the time, addresses or links involved.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, though if you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
